Join us on 24th of June for the launch of RoundGlass Wellbeing at Work Survey (2020–21) report and a fireside discussion on ‘Democratizing Wellbeing at the Workplace’ with a panel of prominent leaders, including Sunny Gurpreet Singh, Pramod Bhasin, Vikram Shroff, BP Biddappa, Charulata Ravi Kumar, and Dr. Derrick DeSilva MD. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Prakriti Poddar.

The notion of wellbeing in the workplace conjures up images of group meditation classes, yoga sessions, in-house counselling, or even corporate retreats. Glamorous and collaborative as these events sound, they remain fragmented, outsourced, and marginal to a company’s ethos. Organizations rarely go beyond these accessory events to create a true culture of wellbeing. However, one can’t have a one-size-fits-all approach towards wellbeing since everybody has different wellbeing goals. To some, physical fitness may be extremely important while others may prioritize emotional health.

Working remotely due to the pandemic has changed the world’s approach towards health and wellbeing. Organizations have caught onto this, and started rolling out more integrated, fully-fledged wellbeing programs for their employees. Technology works as a great enabler to make programs accessible across the very real geographical boundaries we have experienced in lockdown, as well as allowing users to track their progress through data collection. However, these programs are not always tailored to the needs of employees.

Different cultures, genders, and dietary patterns make it even more difficult for individuals to benefit from these programs. Areas such as emotional wellbeing and chronic health problems are continually underrepresented in health apps. While most companies offer insurance covers, these are curative rather than preventative and do not tackle the underlying causes behind the symptoms.

This begs the million-dollar question of whether we can come up with a democratic strategy at a global level that can improve workplace wellbeing.

RoundGlass presents a fireside chat to address some of the key questions around the theme of “Democratizing Wellbeing in the Workplace”.
