RoundGlass as the North Star for your journey of life
Humans are resilient. Let us help you in your journey of life.
As a Punjabi proverb says: Sadde dil, kaleje faulaad de ne. Jakham kha ke vi, jarna jande haan. Nadi zulm di paave tufan ban jaye. Doob doob Ke vi Tarna jande han. “Our bodies are made with steel, though wounded we still work. So even if the river of violence becomes a storm we dive in, swim, and make our way”.
I see RoundGlass as the North Star; the guiding light that helps individuals and businesses find direction. Following Roundglass will improve your life and help you achieve a sense of wholeness through holistic health.
The guiding principle of Roundglass is what I call ‘Wholistic wellbeing’: a lifestyle where a sense of personal wholeness is achieved via holistic health. You will notice I have now used both the word ‘wellness’ and the word ‘wellbeing’, but I do not think of them as interchangeable. In an article on the burgeoning WellTech business, Mirco Pasqualini wrote that “wellness is the state of living a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing is a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing”. ‘Wellness’ may be synonymous with sanity, whereas wellbeing surpasses it. Wellness alone is therefore not enough. Though it may foster physical and mental balance, it lacks the overall mindset to ensure the longevity of that balance. Wellness tackles symptoms, whereas wellbeing tackles the source of these symptoms.
The philosophy of Wholistic Wellbeing is a guide, a mentor, a path, a lifestyle. It’s not a destination in itself: it’s a parcour that leads us to the final stop. Happiness. Peace. Contentment. It’s the Holy Grail.
In a contemporary landscape coping with the aftermath of a global pandemic, health is en vogue again. It’s a new landscape in which physical, mental and social health are held in a tight balance; where mankind has realised that greater general health helps prevent disease and fight infection more effectively. In short, we are in the age of wellness.
The seeds have been there for a long time: plant-based diets, yoga, meditation and fitness are by no means new concepts. But they have gained a level of prominence in the last couple of years that has fully ushered wellness practices into the mainstream, along with a vision of wellness that encompasses the physical, the mental, the spiritual, etc. which is becoming increasingly popular among professionals in various fields, from psychologists to trainers. Such a holistic vision is sorely needed in our hyper-stressed society, which has worsened average levels of health and aggravated the risk of developing chronic health issues.
